Carme Ruscalleda and Mestral present the limited edition of EVOO “Selecció Carme Ruscalleda”
Chef Carme Ruscalleda, Mestral's ambassador since 2022, has taken her commitment to gastronomic quality and locally sourced products a step further by launching a limited edition Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) called "Selección Carme Ruscalleda," presented in a specially designed glass bottle.
This initiative stems from the close collaboration between the chef—the only woman in the world with seven Michelin stars—and the Cambrils Agricultural Cooperative, producer of the renowned Mestral Olive Oil, certified with the Siurana Protected Designation of Origin.
Personal Selection and Quality Control
Committed to every detail of the process, Carme Ruscalleda visited the Cooperative's olive mill accompanied by her husband, Toni Balam, a member of the Catalan Tasting Panel, and Fernando Sarasa, Mestral's Commercial Director. Together, they witnessed the complete journey of the oil, from the reception of the olives to its bottling.
The selection process involved a tasting of the three best extra virgin olive oils from the cooperative's cellar. The Catalan chef found in barrel number 4 the EVOO that best complements traditional Catalan cuisine and embodies the authenticity for which it is renowned. This EVOO, selected from the 2025 harvest, has the Siurana PDO certification and is endorsed by the Catalan Tasting Panel. "I looked for an oil that reflects authenticity, balance, and character; qualities that define both my cuisine and this land," Ruscalleda stated.
To complete the bottling process, Carme Ruscalleda made this limited edition even more special by personally keeping the bottles from the first batch.
Tasting Notes and Format
The selected oil presents a very balanced green fruity profile, with aromas of grass and artichoke, subtle notes of green almond and tomato, and a banana finish that brings harmony to the palate.
The product comes in a 500ml glass bottle with a special design incorporating drawings by the chef herself and her personal signature, highlighting the exclusive and artisanal nature of this limited edition.
Launch and Special Promotion
The “Carme Ruscalleda Selection” Extra Virgin Olive Oil is now available at the Agrobotiga of the Cambrils Agricultural Cooperative and at select SORLI Supermarkets. Distribution is expected to expand in the coming weeks. An organic version of this exclusive selection is also planned for release in the coming months.
To celebrate the launch, a prize draw has been launched. Those who purchase the limited-edition extra virgin olive oil will be able to enjoy a meal for two at the Cuina Sant Pau restaurant, currently managed by Raül Balam, the chef's son, along with Murilo Rodríguez. The draw will run until February 22nd, and the winner will be announced on February 25th via Mestral's social media channels (@olimestral).
