Award for the Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Spain in 2012-2013 organized by Spanish Ministry of Agriculture

The extra virgin olive oil produced by the Agricultural Cooperative of Cambrils, has won the First Prize for the Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Spain in the 2012-2013 season, in ripe fruity category, which holds annually the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment. This recognition is the most important award a company can get in olive oil in Spain. This is the third time that the Agricultural Cooperative of Cambrils get this award (also 2005-2006 and 2007-2008 campaigns) The decision of the contest was announced on April the 23rd and literally stands out: "The extra virgin olive oil of the Agricultural Cooperative of Cambrils is an intense fruity olive oil reminiscent of ripe fruit. It contains notes of apple, almond and hints of cinnamon and vanilla with a hint of green low-intensity, all very balanced. The palate is sweet and nutty, slightly bitter and a little spicier, the whole is very harmonious". The Ministry of Agriculture to promotes these awards, with the effort to improve the quality of olive oil among consumers and promote knowledge and appreciation of extra virgin olive oil. This new award from the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture is an impulse to the desire to continue improving the quality of Arbequina olive oil and produces the Agricultural Cooperative of Cambrils. A quality that has been recognized in markets, which has helped to increased sales of our bottled olive oil under the brand "Mestral" with a huge increase in exports.
